National Capital Judging Center
‘This is How Judging works!’

The Judges Speak, May 15, 2011
The Judges Speak, Royal Horticultural Society, 1914

On Thursday, May 15th, the National Capital Judging Center will judge orchids brought by members and guests. This is an AOS-sanctioned judging and, therefore, advertised by AOS. As a result, we may find plants brought in from people outside our society to be judged.
We will be obligated to put these plants through the screening process and judge them if they need to be considered for an AOS award.
Because our purpose is more of an outreach program centered around education, we have found that our time judging is limited. We may not be able to judge all the plants that people want to see judged or plants that have potential award quality.
This needs to be mentioned to our society members so there are no surprises or disappointments if we are not able to judge their plants.
All the plants will go through a pre-screening process by our judges. Plants that have AOS award potential will be judged first, followed by those plants that may have an educational value regarding judging. If we do not get to all the plants, members are welcome to bring those plants to our next judging event

Photos for the virtual show table must be submitted by Wednesday, May 14, to Mai Conaway conawaymai@yahoo.com.
