The Maryland Orchid Society meets the third Thursday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. See the Meetings page for a full timetable.

Inclement Weather Policy:

     If a snow emergency is declared or in effect in either Baltimore City or Baltimore County as of noon or later on the day of our meeting, the scheduled meeting will be Zoom-only. Snow emergencies lifted before noon will not change a meeting. Refer to the Maryland Coordinated Highway Action Response Team (CHART) website for the latest snow emergency information.
     We will distribute an email message to members confirming a change to Zoom-only as soon as it is known. Information may also be posted on the MOS website.

The next MOS board meeting will be Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 7:00 pm. at Woodbrook Baptist Church. Any member of the Maryland Orchid Society is welcome to attend the board meetings.

August 17-18 Maryland State Fair

     The Maryland Orchid Society participates in the First Flower Show-Potted Plants at the Maryland State Fair in Timonium each year. MOS ribbon judges the orchid entries. It’s a place to show off, recruit members, publicize our Auction, ‘First Show-Table Points for MOS Members of the New Year!’ and your best chance to win cash prizes to go with your ribbons!
     The 4-H and FFA/Home Arts Building is to the right of the gate, enter in the back of the building. Tables will be provided tables for the plant entries, not the usual yellow stands. We also have the opportunity to man the display during the fair hours which run from August 21–24. Gates open at 5 PM on Thursday, 9 AM on Friday through Sunday, any volunteers?

  • Plants Received: Sunday August 17 from 3PM to 8PM, and Monday 18 from 9AM to 7PM at the *4-H and FFA/Home Arts Building* Potted Plants. Classes J1 – J113 (Note: Entries will only be accepted at these times)
  • Plant Retrieval: Pick up Sunday August 24 7-8 PM and Monday August 25, ask times at drop off.

Monthly Meeting September 25, 2025 @ Woodbrook Church 4th Thursday

     Since many of our members will be working hard all day on our regular meeting day September 18, we are moving the meeting to September 25th, same time, same place.
